Deakin & Francis® have launched yet another stunning design online, the Sterling Silver Sumo Wrestler Cufflinks!
With moveable arms and cherry red enamelled cheeks, the Sumo Wrestler Cufflinks are stunningly unique. The inspiration for this design came from tours of Tokyo where the ancient sport is still practiced.
To coincide with the first Sumo Wrestling tournament of the year in Tokyo, the Sumo Wrestler Cufflinks have been launched with the more eccentric cufflink wearer in mind.
Classic car cruises to Mount Fuji, the bright lights of Kabukicho and cherry blossom covered gardens were all on James Deakin’ s (Head Designer) mind when creating the moveable cufflinks, after travelling to the Japanese capital. ‘The Sumo Wrestler Cufflinks are definitely one of my most fun designs. I really wanted to create something which celebrates Japanese Culture but also appeals to the British everyday cufflink wearer. I did this by introducing the mechanical aspect. The moving arms and legs really bring this design to life and creates a comical talking point.’
Each Deakin & Francis® design is hand made by skilled craftsmen using methods unchanged for over 2000 years. Brothers James & Henry Deakin are the seventh generation of Deakin’s to manage the manufacturing jewellers which has created over 5000 cufflink designs since their founding in 1786.
